KTH Newspapers’ Entrepreneurship Development Columnist, Olubunmi Oluwadare, has been honoured as one of Nigeria’s Best National Business Development Service Providers (BDSP) by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN). The award was presented on November 17, 2025, during a high-profile ceremony at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The recognition celebrates Oluwadare’s longstanding commitment to entrepreneurship development and SME empowerment across the country.
Publisher of KTH Daily Newspapers, Ima Niboro, congratulated him on the achievement, describing the honour as well-deserved and reflective of his passion for empowering Nigerians through enterprise. SMEDAN Director-General, Dr. Charles Odii, who presented the award, commended Oluwadare’s contributions, stating that the recognition symbolises the impact of his work on millions of Nigerian entrepreneurs.
In his acceptance speech, Oluwadare dedicated the award to Nigeria’s 45 million SMEs, promising to scale up his efforts in 2026 to support business growth across the country. He announced the expansion of his eLearning platform, Unipreneur eHub, which will offer free digital masterclasses, mentorship opportunities, and business resources to entrepreneurs in Nigeria and across Africa beginning January 2026. He described 2026 as the “Year of Massive Entrepreneurship Development in Nigeria,” reiterating his belief that SMEs remain the heartbeat of the nation’s economy and deserve wider access to digital and business education.
Oluwadare’s recognition came during an MSMEs Conference that brought together government officials, private-sector leaders, and development partners. Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of innovation, business development services, and strategic partnerships in shaping the future of Nigeria’s SME sector. Dr. Odii reaffirmed SMEDAN’s commitment to strengthening the ecosystem, noting that with the right support, Nigerian entrepreneurs can compete globally and scale sustainably.
Reactions from the business community praised the award as timely and well-deserved. A prominent entrepreneur described Oluwadare’s impact as “game-changing,” noting his consistent contributions to the growth of small businesses nationwide. Entrepreneurs also welcomed the upcoming free Unipreneur eHub programmes, which will cover digital transformation, access to funding, and strategies for scaling businesses.
Oluwadare expressed gratitude to all who have supported his vision, calling on entrepreneurs to prepare for a transformative year ahead.
