In continuation of his strategic engagement with traditional rulers across Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed, convened a closed-door meeting with the newly appointed 13 Emirs and the 1st Gung-zaar of the Zaar Chiefdom.
A statement issued to newsmen by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Communication, Abdulwahab Muhammed, said that following the meeting, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, spoke to the journalists on its outcome.
Hammayo emphasized that the creation of additional emirates, chiefdoms and districts was a deliberate step by the government to accelerate socio-economic development across all communities, strengthen traditional institutions as partners in governance, bring government closer to the grassroots for effective service delivery.
He expressed the government’s appreciation to the Emirs, Gung-zaar and the benefitting communities for embracing the initiative.
Alhaji Hammayo reiterated that the Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration remains committed to policies that foster unity, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth.
The government further appealed to the people of the state to continue supporting its programmes and reforms, noting that collective cooperation is essential for achieving the vision of a more prosperous Bauchi.
“The creation of new emirates, chiefdoms and districts is not just an administrative reform–it is a bold step towards empowering our communities, preserving our cultural heritage, and ensuring that governance reaches every household.
“We call on all citizens to stand united with the government in building a Bauchi State that thrives on inclusiveness, peace, and ststainable development,” the statement concluded.
