Katsina United chairman, Surajo Umar, has expressed his team’s desire to secure a continental ticket at the end of the season.
The Chanji Boys have recorded five wins, one draw and five defeats this season.
Katsina United occupy 10th position on the NPFL table with 16 points.
Umar commended his players for their last away result against Shooting Stars.
“First we thank Almighty Allah for the point, and I must commend my team for their fighting spirit from the start of the game to the end of the match,” Surajo told the club’s media.
“We are moving gradually on the table and I wish we can get one of the continental slot this season.”
Meanwhile, Katsina United players have been rewarded with a cash gift of N520,000 for earning a point away from home in the matchday 11 fixture against Shooting Stars.
The Chanji Boys held Shooting Stars to a 1-1 draw at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasinga, Ibadan last Sunday.
The Katsina State Sports Commissioner, Surajo Yazid Abukur, and Chairman of the club Surajo Malumfashi made the donation to the team.
Abukur praised the team for their performance and reiterated his commitment to supporting the club.
Katsina United moved to 10th position on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table with 16 points.
They will be up against newly promoted side Barau FC in their next league game at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina this weekend.
