President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to his long-time associate and Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, describing him as “a loyal ally, consummate strategist, and patriot” as the minister marks his 69th birthday.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Dr. Alake’s enduring commitment to public service, good governance, and national development, saying his decades-long record of excellence continues to inspire confidence and trust.
The President reflected on his long personal and professional association with Alake, recalling years of partnership dating back to their time in Lagos State Government and beyond. He described the minister as “a dependable ally and outstanding journalist whose contributions to nation-building remain invaluable.”
“He has remained a committed, loyal, and outstanding ally for several decades. His steadfastness and unyielding commitment to national development and progress stand him out as a patriot,” the President said.
Tinubu also commended Alake’s current leadership in the Solid Minerals Ministry, noting that his ongoing reforms were reshaping the sector into a viable revenue source for Nigeria. According to the President, Alake’s policy innovation, investment drive, and efforts to formalize artisanal mining align perfectly with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda for economic diversification.
“On this special day, I pray that Almighty God will continue to bless Dele with good health, wisdom, and strength. I wish him a long life and more years of service to our nation and humanity,” Tinubu added.
The celebrant, who serves as one of the President’s closest advisers and a key figure in the administration’s economic reform team, is widely regarded as one of the architects of Tinubu’s media and political strategy since their days in Lagos State.
