Ukrainian Drones Hinder Operations at Several Russian Airports

Multiple Russian airports were forced to restrict operations overnight following a wave of Ukrainian drone attacks, authorities said yesterday.
Russia’s biggest carrier Aeroflot warned it would take the entire day to restore its full flight schedule at its main hub, Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow, according to Russian media.
Russia’s largest airport, Sheremetyevo, was shut for nearly four hours on Monday night for arrivals and departures, the federal aviation authority Rosaviatsiya said.
Dozens of flights were delayed.
Other airports affected included Moscow’s Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky, as well as regional airports in Kazan, Samara, Saratov on the Volga River and Gelendzhik on the Black Sea.
Russia’s military said it downed 69 Ukrainian drones overnight, but authorities later said drones continued to be detected over the Moscow region on Tuesday morning.
It gave no details on the intended targets.
Ukrainian cities hit by Russian bombs
Ukraine’s military said Russia launched 116 drones overnight, most of which were intercepted.
It said Russian forces also dropped six glide bombs on the front-line industrial city of Zaporizhzhya in the south, sparking fires and damaging civilian buildings.
One man was killed, according to the regional military administration.
The city had already come under attack the previous night, when at least 10 glide bombs struck, killing three people, Ukrainian officials said.
Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia’s full-scale invasion for more than three and a half years.
