The Chairman, Sokoto Road Traders Association, Onitsha, Anambra, Mr Emeka Mbachu, Chairman, has started mobilising residents and traders to vote massively for Governor Charles Soludo in the state’s governorship poll scheduled for Nov. 8.
Mbachu said this while addressing traders in Onitsha yesterday.
He urged the traders and residents alike to partake in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) to enable them vote in the election.
He explained that his support for Soludo is based on the governor’s performance in all sectors, less than four years into his administration.
The market boss said that residents and traders cannot afford to vote for selfish people, who might not deliver on campaign promises.
He expressed optimism that the governor’s achievements in his second tenure would surpass what he did in the first term if elected.
According to him, Soludo and his deputy, Onyekachi Ibezim are performing to expectations.
“With what they are doing, you see that the tax we are paying is not in vain, their achievements are there for all to see.
“Soludo has created employment opportunities for jobless youths roaming the streets through the one youth, two skills initiative and employed over 8,000 teachers.
“He has rehabilitated and constructed good road network across the state that each community can boast of at least, one major road,” he said.
Mbachu also enumerated some other areas the governor had performed to include health, agriculture and education.
“Soludo established five general hospitals in Anambra north senatorial zone and located health centres with medical personnel in all communities of the state.
“He provided free education from primary to secondary school, provided crop seedlings to farmers to boost agriculture.
“Petty traders don’t pay levy, barrow pushers, vulcanisers, hawkers, among others are exempted from payment.
“Touts have been sacked from the state and security, which hitherto eluded the state has been restored,” he added.
