The Centre for Intellectual Services on the Sokoto Caliphate has named the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Bamalli, as one of the recipients of 2025 Caliphate Award.
This is contained in a statement signed by Malam Abdullahi Kwarbai, Media and Publicity Officer, Zazzau Emirate Council and made available to newsmen in Zaria yesterday.
According to Kwarbai, the honour recognises the Emir’s contributions to promoting and preserving relationships among families of actors in the historic Tafkin Kwato (Muhajiruna Wal-Ansar War of the Sokoto Caliphate).
He recalled that the Emir’s great-grandfather, Malam Musa Bamalli, was among the prominent figures who took part in the war.
He said the Emir would join six other Nigerians to receive the award during the Annual General Meeting of Muhajiruna Wal-Ansar, scheduled for Sept. 11.
He disclosed that Bamalli would also chair the occasion, while a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Isa Talatan Mafara, would deliver the keynote lecture.
