Bauchi Gov Approves N32,000 Minimum Pension Wage, Ratifies Key Development Projects

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has approved a new minimum pension of N32,000 for retirees of the state.
The decision was reached during an extra-ordinary State Executive Council Meeting.
A statement issued by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Communication, Abdulwahab Muhammed said that the State Head of Service, Mohammed Sani Umar, who briefed journalists after the meeting, described the approval as a reflection of the Governor’s unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of senior citizens, confirming that pension allowances have also been increased to better reflect the current economic realities.
In furtherance of infrastructure development, the Council ratified the Governor’s approval for Mother Cat Ltd to continue the remaining portion of the Charachara-Ragon-Magonshi-Azare road project in Katagum LGA, covering over 30 kilometers and extending access to previously excluded wards under the RAAMP initiative.
The Chief Economic Adviser, Yahuza Adamu Haruna, reported that the 2025 budget has performed successfully, prompting the administration to prepare a supplementary budget for presentation to the State House of Assembly to accommodate additional development projects.
The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah, announced Council’s approval for the redesign and realignment of the Danazo-Gabchiyari road as well as the construction of a new road linking the International Conference Center to Abubakar Rimi road. Payments for permanent works to K.K.Kingdom Company under a Public Private Partnership framework were also approved.
In the education sector, its commissioner, Dr. Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayan, confirmed Council’s approval of upgrade of selected junior secondary schools to full senior secondary schools status, aimed at enhancing teaching and learning across the state.
“These decisions reflect the administration’s commitment to inclusive development, fiscal responsibility and improved public service delivery. Governor Bala Mohammed continues to prioritize infrastructure, education, and welfare as pillars of progress in Bauchi State,” the statement concluded.
