Founder and CEO of Coscharis Group, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, has revealed why many Nigerian politicians avoid buying vehicles from his company, saying it’s simply because he refuses to inflate prices.
In a video shared on social media platforms, the respected businessman narated the experience during a candid chat on a podcast.
According to Dr. Maduka, a former Nigerian governor once approached him to purchase vehicles worth N40 million. However, after issuing the receipt, the governor requested that the amount be inflated to N80 million—double the original cost.
“I told him no,” Maduka recalled. “I won’t do that kind of thing.”
The refusal, he said, led to the governor abandoning the purchase altogether.
“He sent someone else to come back and buy the cars, and that person inflated it himself before reselling,” he added, shaking his head in disappointment.
Although Maduka did not reveal the identity of the governor or the state he served, he noted that incidents like that are the reason most Nigerian politicians deliberately avoid doing business with his company.
“They don’t come to me because they know I won’t help them inflate prices,” he said.
