Indian PM Mourns Ex-President Buhari, Condoles Family, FG

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has expressed his heartfelt sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari, and condoled his family, the Federal Government, President Tinubu and Nigerians.
It would be recalled that Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s President from 2015 to 2023, died at the age of 82 on Sunday, in a London hospital, after an illness.
Modi recalled his past meetings with the late Buhari, and highlighted the deceased’s wisdom, warmth, and steadfast dedication to fostering India-Nigeria relationship.
The PM, therefore, extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the people and the government of Nigeria, as well as President Bola Tinubu, on behalf of the Indian government.
“Deeply saddened by the passing of former President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari.
“I fondly recall our meetings and conversations on various occasions. His wisdom, warmth, and unwavering commitment to India–Nigeria friendship stood out.
“I join the 1.4 billion people of India in extending our heartfelt condolences to his family, the people, and the government of Nigeria,” Modi posted on his official X (Twitter) handle.
