Embattled National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu’s attempt to forcefully enter the national secretariat of the party was yesterday resisted by the management and staff of the National Secretariat of the Party.
The protesting staff, who resisted the forceful resumption, locked up all the offices and collectively left the party secretariat, leaving the embattled Anyanwu stranded and embarrassed.
The protesters alleged that Anyanwu is one of the moles planted in the party by the ruling All Progressives Congress to destroy the PDP ahead of the 2027 elections.
Senator Samuel Anyanwu was seen in company of some persons believed to be suspected thugs and determined to force his way into the office of the National Secretary at the party secretariat.
The management and staff of the PDP National secretariat in May, this year told journalists at a briefing that their loyalty was in sync with the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) that directed the Deputy Secretary, Hon. Setonji Koshodeo to act as the National Secretary in line with the provisions of the Party.
Accordingly, the staff members collectively resisted Anyanwu’s attempt to forcefully gain access into the office of the National Secretary.
The secretariat staff have vowed not to acknowledge or work with Anyanwu as National Secretary.
Checks at the PDP National Secretariat, located at Wadata Plaza, Wuse zone 5, Abuja indicated that Anyanwu was later advised by some of his close aides to leave the Party Secretariat as the environment is not conducive for him to operate since no staff member wants to work with him.
It was further gathered that based on the wise counsel by his aides, Anyanwu quietly left the Party Secretariat to avoid further embarrassment and possible breakdown of law and order.
