SMEDAN, MEDA partner Cross River First Lady to advance women’s economic empowerment

The Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA) and the The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) are set for a strategic partnership with the Office of the First Lady of Cross River State to implement comprehensive development programes for Women in Agriculture, Market Women, and women-led Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) across the state.

This collaborative initiative is designed to foster significant economic development through targeted women’s empowerment.

The Director-General of MEDA, Mr. Great Ogban, conveyed this commitment during a recent productive working visit with Her Excellency, emphasizing the shared vision for advancing opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

Director-General of SMEDAN, Mr Charles Odii, eulogised Her Excellency for her contributions in MSME and the development of other sectors in the state. Her passion for humanity has taken her beyond development boarders, he concluded.

Also in attendance was Dr Inyang Asibong, Special Adviser on Gender Mainstreaming and Chairman, Humanity Without Boarders Empowerment Initiative, who highlighted the several achievements of the foundation and opportunities for partnership to bolster development engagements.

Further details regarding the specific components and implementation timelines of these impactful programs will be shared in the coming days, with the aim of encouraging broad participation from women across Cross River State.
