Gusau, Zamfara State – In a grand ceremony, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu from Abia State was conferred with the title of “Jarumin Gusau” (Warrior of Gusau) by the Emir of Gusau, Ibrahim Bello. The turbaning ceremony, steeped in tradition and prestige, took place in the state capital.

Senator Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, expressed his gratitude for the honor, saying it was a significant recognition from the Gusau Emirate. The title is seen as a symbol of national reconciliation and friendship across Nigeria’s diverse regions.

During his visit, Kalu also commissioned two renovated projects in the state – the Ministry of Women Affairs and the College of Arts and Sciences. He praised Governor Dauda Lawal’s efforts in transforming the state’s infrastructure.

In a nod to his pragmatic approach, Kalu advised Governor Lawal to work with President Tinubu for the benefit of Zamfara State, while also maintaining party loyalty. The senator’s ability to bridge political divides and honor tradition has earned him recognition across the country.

With this new title, Kalu adds another layer to his reputation as a politician who can navigate multiple dialects – of tribe, party, and power.
