President Bola Tinubu has corrected an omission in his June 12 Democracy Day broadcast at the National Assembly (NASS) and conferred national recognition of CFR on Col. Abubakar Umar Dangiwa (rtd).
President Tinubu regretted the omission and conferred the national recognition of CFR on Col. Dangiwa (rtd) yesterday in Kaduna State, where he was invited to commission some key projects by the State Governor Uba Sani.
“I want to use this opportunity to correct an omission,” Tinubu said, adding: “some of those people that I missed out during the June 12 broadcast in the National Assembly, is Colonel Dangiwa.
“Today, let me correct that by honouring him with national recognition of CFR”.
TNG reports Col. Dangiwa is a former Military Governor of Kaduna State, who took a courageous stance against the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election won by Chief MKO Abiola.
Following the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Dangiwa spoke vehemently and called for the restoration of Abiola’s mandate.
