Environment Commissioner Intensifies efforts on Sanity of Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr. Margaret Elayo, has expressed her commitment to leading an intensified campaign for a healthier and cleaner environment in the state.

In an interview with journalist after the end of May sanitation drive last Saturday, the commissioner stressed the state government’s dedication to improving environmental standards under the leadership of Engineer Abdullahi Sule.

Princess Margaret Elayo, who resolved in breaking a new ground in her role as environment commissioner opined that the Idea could be achieved in connection with the local communities at various local government areas to improve the hygiene, healthier and wellbeing of citizens in the state.

Princess Elayo, who believes that fostering a clean environment will allow residents to continue enjoying their meals in healthier conditions.

The commissioner’s active participation in cleaning the streets showcased her commitment to revitalizing sanitation practices across Nasarawa State.

While sharing her experiences during the sanitation tour, Princess Margaret acknowledged that more comprehensive efforts are needed to raise awareness about the significance of sanitation and its health implications.

To reinforce this message, she announced that the ministry will launch an educational campaign next week. “If we catch motorcycles or okadas operating during sanitation hours, we will seize them and enforce stricter regulations,” she affirmed.

She firmly stated that improper disposal of waste is unacceptable, emphasizing its direct impact on public health.
