Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has apologised to fans following the disruption of his AY Live: Single and Not Searching show in Cardiff, Wales, blaming unresolved payment issues with the organisers.

The event, scheduled for October 25, reportedly left attendees frustrated after waiting for hours without seeing the advertised performers take the stage.

In an apology shared on Instagram, AY said he and his team arrived in Cardiff ready to perform but had yet to receive the outstanding balance for their appearance, which he claimed had been due since September.

He also alleged that similar payment issues had occurred at an earlier show in Leicester, adding that efforts to resolve the dispute delayed their appearance until most attendees had left the venue.

“To everyone who bought tickets, travelled and waited, I am sincerely sorry you did not get the show you paid for. You fulfilled your commitment, and you deserve better,” he said.

AY called for a resolution for affected ticket holders, including clarity on refunds, while maintaining that the remaining dates on his UK tour were still scheduled to proceed.

The event organisers had yet to publicly provide their account of the incident in the reports available.
