…Vows Grassroots Mobilisation for All APC Candidates
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, members of the College of Executive Assistants (EAs) to Delta State Governor, Wednesday, endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term in office.
A motion for the endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori for a second term as president and governor, respectively, was moved by Engr. Efe Ugbarugba and seconded by Olorogun Efeturi Ono-Sorhue during a strategic meeting of the Executive Assistants held in Asaba.
When the motion was put to a voice vote by the Chairman of the College, Hon. Misan Ukubeyinje, it was unanimously adopted by members who were apparently enthused by what they described as the impressive performance of both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Ukubeyinje said the endorsement was a demonstration of confidence in the leadership of both Tinubu and Oborevwori as well as their commitment to sustaining ongoing development and reforms.
According to him, the endorsement is not based on friendship, personal gain, political convenience or empty political slogans “but principally on our assessment of governance, visible infrastructure, economic decisions, workers’ welfare, social programmes, institutional reforms, security efforts, road development and the overall direction of the two administrations.
“We believe that where a government has demonstrated measurable efforts, responsibility and capacity, the reasonable thing to do is to acknowledge that performance and give such government an opportunity to consolidate on its good work.”
The College, he said, has deliberately chosen performance as the foundation of the endorsement, adding that members of the College recognise that political office is a trust and that elections should provide citizens with an opportunity to judge what a government has done, what it has failed to do, what it has started and what it has demonstrated the capacity to complete.
He said: “Having examined the various parameters of evaluating the performance index of a government, members of the College have come to the conclusion that there is sufficient evidence of ongoing government activities and measurable intervention to justify continuity.
“Delta State’s administration has reported extensive road construction and urban renewal while the federal government has reported major infrastructure and economic reforms”.
He said the new strategy of the College would involve the deployment of well-articulated campaigns, focused programmes, media engagements, dedicated communication teams, canvassers and door-to-door mobilisation to propagate the achievements of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administrations at the federal and state levels.
The Chairman, therefore, said members would be expected to take the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori to the grassroots, while mobilising support for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates contesting Senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.
While applauding the economic reforms of the administration of President Bola Tinubu, he said the achievements recorded by both the state and federal governments had strengthened the case for continuity, urging party members and supporters to mobilise adequately for the success of the APC in the 2027 general elections.
“As candidates of the APC, President Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori deserved the support of party faithful for their respective second-term bids,” he concluded.
