A 48-year-old man, Olajide Olanrewaju, on Wednesday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over alleged threat to life.
Olanrewaju was charged with conspiracy and threat to life, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Samuel Owolabi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Sept. 27 at about 5.30 p.m. at Elebu, Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendant and others still at large threatened the life of one Pastor Oluwaseyi Olowoyo.
The prosecutor said the defendant brought two men and sent them to pursue the pastor with the intention of harming him.
He said the offences contravened Sections 86 and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Olanrewaju, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Nov. 2 for hearing.
