The Super Eagles and Turkish champions Galatasaray have reached a mutual agreement over the release of Victor Osimhen for forthcoming 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea Bissau.
Osimhen was injured in a Super Lig match against fellow Istanbul club Basaksehir on September 4.
According to Fanatik, Osimhen is making good progress with his recovery from that injury and could even be ready for Saturday’s away match at Trabzonspor.
However, after taking into account his history of injuries Galatasaray have decided to leave him out of this game.
They have also agreed with the Super Eagles that he stays away from the AFCON qualifiers so that he is fully ready to return after the elongated international break.
It is therefore projected that the 27-year-old striker will finally make his comeback in a UEFA Champions clash at home against mighty Barcelona on October 13.
