Nigerian streamer and content creator Carter Efe has challenged singer Wizkid to a boxing match, insisting that he would defeat the music star if they faced each other in the ring.
Speaking on Yanga 89.9 FM, Carter said he would not demand payment for the proposed fight, joking that organisers could pay Wizkid $1 million while he would enter the ring for free.
“I’d like to fight Wizkid in a boxing match. They should not even give me any money. They can even pay Wizkid $1 million that he should come fight with me,” he said.
When asked whether he was willing to fight a “national treasure”, Carter questioned why Wizkid should be regarded as one without including him.
“Me, am I not a national treasure too? If I even stay longer in the game, my treasure would be more than Wizkid’s own,” he said.
Carter also revisited his long running fallout with Wizkid and rejected claims that he used the singer’s name to gain popularity.
He argued that both parties benefited from their collaboration on the song “Machala”, which topped the charts following its release.
“Did he also not blow? We shared glory. I dropped the song and it entered number one and he couldn’t even acknowledge me. As he didn’t acknowledge me, that’s why I don’t acknowledge him anymore,” Carter said.
He further claimed that he would have the upper hand in a boxing match, pointing to Wizkid’s alleged marijuana use as part of his reasoning.
“Let them just bring him to the ring. Let us fight and I know I will win because he smokes weed,” he added.
Carter’s comments have since stirred reactions online, particularly given his previous public clashes with the singer.
