The Falconets of Nigeria, the only African team through to the last 16 of the 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, will Thursday take on their counterparts from England for a place in the quarterfinal of the tournament.
Nigeria finished runners-up in Group F with four points and a superior goals’ difference than China.
England, on the other hand, also finished second in their own first round group that had Brazil and Canada.
They recorded four points from three matches after they walloped Tanzania 5-1, drew 1-1 with Canada before they fell 2-1 to group winners Brazil.
