Former Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Danboskid, has opened up about the difficult realities he has faced since leaving the reality show, revealing that he is currently staying in his sister’s room as he battles personal, financial and family challenges.
In an emotional and candid disclosure, Danboskid admitted that despite the public perception of him, things have not been going well in his personal life.
“I am about to hit rock bottom. I am sleeping in my sister’s room,” he said.
The former housemate, however, stressed that he was not looking for sympathy or financial assistance, insisting that what he needed was honest advice on how to turn his life around.
“Please don’t give me an inch of pity. I don’t want pity. I want people to tell me how things are,” he said.
Danboskid explained that repeatedly asking people for money would not solve the problems he was facing, adding that he was determined to understand what needed to change in his life.
“If I keep asking for pity or money, by tomorrow I will come back to ask for more. I don’t want that. I don’t know what is going on with me but I know I have to change something,” he added.
Reflecting on the image he had built for himself, the reality star acknowledged the pressure that comes with being perceived in a particular way by the public.
According to him, the profile people have come to associate with him does not necessarily reflect the reality of his life behind the scenes.
“Whatever I think I am, I am not. I built a profile; people have seen me in a particular type of way. I don’t have everything going well in my life. I don’t have my life going well,” he said.
He also opened up about challenges within his family, clarifying that while they are not struggling to afford basic necessities, they have been dealing with significant mental and emotional difficulties.
“Things are not going well with my family too. We are not suffering; we eat every day. We are just suffering mentally,” he explained.
Danboskid also spoke about his relationship with his father, revealing that his perspective had changed significantly over time.
He said he once struggled with his feelings towards his father but has now come to a place of love and understanding, noting that people can be on completely different paths in life.
“My dad is on a different path. I used to not like him, but I don’t anymore; I love him now. Understanding humans is understanding that we are on a different path,” he said.
The reality star further admitted that he may not currently be in the best state of mind but expressed his determination to rebuild himself and pursue the dreams he has always had.
“Maybe I am not well. But I want to be well. I want to be great. I want to do things I have dreamt and wished for,” he said.
Despite his current financial difficulties, Danboskid revealed that he had considered selling his laptop to raise money but ultimately decided against it, fearing that selling his possessions would only provide a temporary solution to a deeper problem.
“I have a laptop. I wanted to sell it, but I said no, or else I will just keep selling everything I own,” he said.
Looking ahead, the former housemate revealed that his ambitions extend beyond his time on reality television. He disclosed that he has written a script and hopes to produce his own movie while building a career as a world-class actor.
“What I want for myself: I have a script. I want to produce my own movie and also become a world-class actor. How do I go about it? I don’t know yet,” he said.
His revelation offers a glimpse into the less glamorous side of life after reality television, where the visibility and popularity gained from appearing on a major show do not always translate into financial stability or personal fulfilment.
For Danboskid, however, his admission appears to mark a moment of self-reflection as he confronts the gap between the public image he has created and the reality of his life, while searching for a new direction beyond the BBNaija spotlight.
