Judy Austin’s former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, has reacted to the N1 billion defamation lawsuit reportedly filed against him by the actress, insisting that the legal action will not stop him from seeking access to their children.
In a video shared online, Obasi questioned whether Judy and her family could afford the amount being demanded in the lawsuit, saying he had been laughing over the development.
“You sued me N1 billion, you fit count am? Can your family count it, can they raise the money? I’ve just been laughing since yesterday,” he said.
Obasi also questioned Judy’s claim that their last communication took place in 2018, asking whether she had blocked him since then and accusing her of preventing him from seeing their children.
“Thank God in your lawsuit you said the last time I called was 2018. Since 2018, did you block me or not? Why are you hiding my children from me?” he asked.
He further insisted that the lawsuit would not intimidate him or discourage him from pursuing access to his children.
“Do you think a lawsuit can scare me away from asking for my children?” he said.
Obasi declared that he was prepared to face imprisonment if necessary, saying his priority was to regain access to his children.
“It is either I have my children or I go to jail. I’m not scared of prison,” he stated.
He added that he had already prepared himself for the possibility of being imprisoned, saying he had even contacted his tailor to make prison clothing in his size.
The latest development adds another layer to the long-running dispute between Obasi and Judy Austin, with the former couple’s relationship and issues surrounding their children having repeatedly attracted public attention.
