Nafada Emirate Council Football and Late Shehu Abubakar teams have qualified for the final of the 2026 Gombe Emir’s Cup competition tagged:” King’s Cup”.
They emerged after intense semi-final matches played at Army Barracks Gombe
In one the semi-final matches, Nafada Emirate defeated Dukku FC 3-1 to qualify for the semi-final, while Late Shehu Abubakar side defeated Funakaye by a lone goal. to book its passage to the last two stage.
With the results, the two teams will slug it out in the grand final of the championship slated for Pantami Stadium at a later date.
Among the guests expected at the grand finale are Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya, Emir of Gombe, Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar and the President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau.
The championship is being organized and sponsored by the Chief Executive Officer of Green White Green outfit, Hon Ahmed Shuaibu-Gara Gombe to develope, promote and discover hidden talents in Gombe State, as well as promote and sustain the existing cordial relationship, peace and unity among various ethnic communities in the state.
