The All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West Zone will embark on a strategic tour of its seven states to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections by engaging stakeholders.
This was contained in a statement by Mr Musa Mada, APC North-West Zonal Publicity Secretary on Thursday in Kaduna.
‎The statement said the decision was reached at a meeting of the zonal leadership of the party held in Kaduna.
It said the meeting, chaired by the APC North-West Zonal Secretary, Mr Isah Achida, in the absence of the National Vice Chairman (North-West), Mr Garba Datti, who was away on an official assignment, deliberated on strategies to mobilise support and secure a higher number of votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
‎According to the statement, the proposed tour will provide an opportunity for the leadership to engage stakeholders across the zone on measures to strengthen the party.
‎It added that the meeting also reviewed strategies aimed at retaining all seven North-West states under the control of the APC.
‎The statement described the current political landscape as unprecedented, noting that it was the first time since the creation of states in Nigeria that all seven North-West states were governed by a single political party.
‎It also expressed appreciation to Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for donating a utility vehicle to the party to support its operations.
‎The party further commended the governors of the North-West states for their continued support, describing their contributions as vital to the effective functioning of the party’s zonal headquarters.
‎The statement also acknowledged the support of prominent APC leaders from the zone serving at the national level, including the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, ministers and other political office holders appointed by President Tinubu.
‎It urged the leaders to sustain their support for the party and extend assistance to party structures and support groups as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
