Nigerian billionaire and Sujimoto Group CEO, Sijibomi Ogundele, has shared how he would rebuild his fortune if he lost everything at the age of 45, saying he would begin as a paid car washer rather than wait for opportunities.
Speaking in a recent interview, the real estate mogul stressed that survival comes before ambition, explaining that his first priority would be earning enough money to feed himself.
“If I have to start from zero, even at 45, I’ll start washing cars. They have to pay me because I have to earn money. I can’t wash for free,” he said.
Sijibomi explained that he would focus on delivering quality service, aiming to wash 30 to 40 cars daily and earn about ₦40,000 a day. Within a month, he said he would begin hiring staff, expanding the business and eventually opening his own car wash.
The billionaire added that once he had built enough capital, he would diversify into food trading by transporting commodities such as tomatoes and onions from northern Nigeria to major markets like Mile 12 in Lagos before venturing into larger investments.
His remarks have sparked conversations online, with many praising his entrepreneurial mindset, while others questioned whether rebuilding wealth is truly that straightforward in Nigeria’s current economic climate.
