…Says I Won’t Betray Nigerians’ Trust, My Reforms Will Build a Better Future

By Abu Adamu
President Bola Tinubu on Thursday assured Nigerians that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him. He declared that despite the hardship occasioned by his administration’s reforms, the policies would ultimately produce a stronger economy and a more prosperous nation.

The President gave the assurance in a message delivered on his behalf by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. This was during the inauguration of the executives of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a political mobilisation platform established to popularise the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.

Tinubu said his government remained resolute in implementing reforms aimed at securing Nigeria’s long-term stability and prosperity. This resolve holds despite the difficult decisions taken since he assumed office.

“My administration remains committed to building a stronger nation in spite of the difficult decisions taken since assuming office,” he said.

Addressing supporters, political leaders, traditional rulers, civil society groups and other stakeholders, the President said he was encouraged by the growing grassroots support for his administration. He described it as evidence of citizens’ commitment to national development.

“I assure Nigerians of unwavering dedication to our mandate.

“This administration will remain committed to fulfilling its vision of building a better nation for present and future generations alike.”

Tinubu urged members of the movement to intensify grassroots mobilisation by taking the message of his administration directly to communities across the country. He stressed that sustained engagement with citizens was vital to strengthening democracy and encouraging public participation.

According to him, electoral success begins with effective engagement at the grassroots. He urged supporters to campaign peacefully, respectfully and in a manner that promotes democratic values.

He called on members to educate Nigerians on the benefits of government policies. He said democracy flourishes when citizens understand the dividends of governance and actively participate in nation-building.

Acknowledging the economic pain experienced by many Nigerians, Tinubu maintained that the sacrifices demanded by ongoing reforms were necessary. These sacrifices are needed to lay a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and national prosperity.

He said no nation achieves greatness without confronting difficult challenges with courage and determination.

“Patriotism and resilience remain essential qualities required to overcome temporary hardships while building a stronger, prosperous and united Nigeria.

“Reforms are designed to establish enduring foundations for future generations, and meaningful national progress rarely emerges without sacrifice, resilience and commitment to long-term developmental objectives.”

The President stressed that good governance requires collaboration between the Executive, Legislature and the Nigerian people. He added that sustainable development can only be achieved through collective responsibility.

He also cautioned against allowing partisan politics to undermine national unity. He insisted that Nigeria’s overall interest should always take precedence over individual political ambitions and electoral contests.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to continue promoting hope, mutual respect and democratic ideals in their interactions. He said every citizen has a role to play in strengthening confidence in the country’s future.

The President commended High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement for initiating the nationwide mobilisation campaign. The campaign supports his administration.

He expressed confidence that the reforms introduced over the past three years were already positioning Nigeria for sustained economic growth. He assured citizens that the full benefits would become increasingly evident with time.

Earlier, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Kestin Pondi, described the inauguration as the beginning of a nationwide grassroots mobilisation campaign. The campaign is designed to rally support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Pondi thanked political leaders, traditional rulers, diplomats, youth and women groups, civil society organisations, media practitioners and other stakeholders for attending the event. He described their presence as a demonstration of commitment to national unity and development.

He also acknowledged the contributions of governors, members of the National Assembly, the APC National Working Committee, coordinators, volunteers and other partners for ensuring the successful launch of the movement.

Describing Tinubu as a courageous leader committed to transforming Nigeria through bold reforms, Pondi urged supporters to remain steadfast. He encouraged them to promote the administration’s programmes.

“This inauguration marks the beginning of broader mobilisation efforts.

“I am confident that sustained grassroots engagement and constructive citizen participation will guarantee the successful implementation of the movement’s objectives,” he said.

He called on members of the movement to remain peaceful, disciplined and focused. This will help as they work to promote national unity, democratic consolidation and sustainable national development.
