After years in Nollywood, popular actor Kunle Remi is calling out two things he says continue to bother him in the industry.

Speaking during one of his “Random Wednesday Talks,” the 37-year-old actor shared frustrations about what he described as troubling habits among some filmmakers.

First was language. According to Kunle, he finds it unsettling when producers approach actors with the phrase, “I want to use you for a project,” rather than saying they want to hire or work with a talent.

For him, it is more than semantics. It reflects mindset. His second concern was what he described as a lack of faith some producers have in their own projects. He recounted speaking with a producer who seemed unsure whether his film would even make it successfully to audiences.

To Kunle, that kind of doubt before release is worrying. How do you expect the actor to believe in a project when even its creators sound unconvinced?

His remarks have sparked conversations about respect, professionalism and confidence in Nollywood’s evolving creative space.
