The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports claiming that its National Chairman, David Mark, has resigned, describing the allegation as false, malicious, and deliberately misleading.

In a statement issued by the Media Office of the National Chairman, the party labelled the claim “an insidious fabrication” orchestrated by what it called “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists.”

The ADC firmly stated that Mark remains the substantive National Chairman, stressing that neither he nor the party’s leadership has contemplated any resignation.

“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement said.

Reaffirming unity within its ranks, the party said its leadership remains focused on strengthening democratic values and providing credible leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The ADC also warned against attempts to destabilise the party, suggesting that such efforts are driven by fear of its growing political influence and emerging alliances ahead of the next electoral cycle.

“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.

The party urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours, maintaining that it remains stable, united, and committed to its democratic ideals.
