Ray Emodi, a Nollywood actor, released a four minute video on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, announcing his decision to quit acting.
The 35 year old revealed that he enjoyed making Nollywood films and dedicated years of hard work to the craft. He explained that he has now chosen to step away from acting to focus fully on music.
The actor, who has recently been sharing short videos of himself rapping, stated that his new direction is to create music specifically for women on the dance floor.
Reactions from many Nigerians appeared largely indifferent, as reflected in the tone of the comments.
