Nollywood actress and producer Allwell Ademola, who passed away on December 27, 2025, shortly after celebrating Christmas with friends and family, was laid to rest on January 9, 2026, amid deep emotions and tributes from colleagues, friends, and loved ones.
Her burial rites, which spanned from a solemn service of songs to her final interment, were marked by an outpouring of grief and remembrance. Several prominent figures from the Nollywood industry were in attendance, coming together to honour the life and legacy of the late actress.
While celebrating her impact and contributions to the Yoruba film industry, a member of her family, Muyiwa Ademola, identified as her cousin, revealed to members of the press the cause of her death, which had previously not been made public. According to him, Allwell Ademola suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away despite efforts by medical practitioners to resuscitate her.
He further expressed profound gratitude to the Yoruba Nollywood community, acknowledging the industry’s collective support and for taking full responsibility for the financial arrangements associated with her burial.
The late actress is remembered for her dedication to her craft and her strong presence within the Yoruba film space, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate within the industry.
