Lobi Stars Exit Registration, Transfer Ban; Clear Fines, Other Intebdetness

‎Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, have cleared itself of indebtedness, as well as registration and transfer ban placed on it by the Nigeria Football Federal Arbitration Committee.
The panel, had on February 28, 2025, while ruling on a petition filed by Coach Eugene Agagbe against Lobi Stars FC for breach of contract, issued the sanctions against the Makurdi-based soccer lords.
The committee found the club guilty, and slammed a N31.5m compensation on the club in favour of Coach Agagbe, and anotger fine of N550,000 in favour of NFF.
Lobi Stars were given 45 days to pay Agagbe the said compensation in not more than three instalments, and the fine to NFF within the same period.
‎The decision was not complied with, after the grace period and particularly on June 17, 2025 a ban on registration and transfer of players was placed on Lobi Stars, a situation that persisted till the Dr. Philip Nongu board was dissolved.
‎However, according to a statement from the club’s Media Office, within two weeks of Mr Simon Ikya led Interim Management Committee in office, the arbitration committee’s decisions against Lobi Stars, which included the N31.5m owed Coach Agagbe, and N550,000 fine and all other forms of indebtedness have been complied with, and the ban on registration and transfer of players have been lifted.
“‎Lobi Stars can now freely exercise their statutory and professional rights to obtain their registration licences and transfer players in line with the Framework of the League and statutes of Nigeria Football Federation,” the statement added.
