The Speaker of the Delta House of Assembly, Mr Dennis Guwor, has lauded Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the reconstruction of the Warri-Sapele-Benin Dual Carriageway.
The Delta governor on Tuesday inaugurated the reconstruction of the dual carriageway.
Guwor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, yesterday, said the project would significantly improve economic activity, security, and mobility for residents of the state as well as visitors to the state.
According to the speaker, the deplorable condition of the Warri-Sapele-Benin road has been a nightmare to motorists.
”The decision to prioritise the reconstruction is a bold, transformative, and commendable step.”
He highlighted other key infrastructure initiatives underway to include flyover projects in Effurun and Warri.
He noted that these developments reflected the governor’s commitment to enhancing the state’s infrastructure and economic landscape.
He also commended the governor’s collaboration with the federal government, adding that such partnerships were crucial to accelerating sustainable development in the state.
Guwor charged contractors handling various projects in the state to deliver high-quality work in line with international standards and to ensure timely completion across all three senatorial districts.
”As the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Assemblies, I understand the importance of infrastructure in improving lives and unlocking economic growth,” he said.
He assured the governor and residents of the state that the Assembly would continue to provide legislative backing and effective oversight to ensure the success of all ongoing projects.
He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to partnering with the executive to drive progress and urged residents to support the ”Renewed Hope for More” agenda of both President Bola Tinubu and the state governor.
