Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have neutralised more than 20 terrorists, arrested several collaborators, and recovered a cache of arms and explosives during a series of coordinated offensives across the North-East between August 23 and 30.

Military sources said the operations took place in Gujba, Gubio, Sabsawa, Whumtakum, Mandarari, Gajigana, Konduga, Banki, and Loskori Kura, spanning Borno and Yobe States. The raids were supported by air power and local security outfits.

Among the weapons and equipment recovered were AK-47 rifles, rocket-propelled grenade tubes, bombs, and hundreds of rounds of 7.62mm ammunition. Troops also detonated several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) discovered during clearance operations.

In a significant breakthrough, soldiers intercepted 242 bags of NPK fertiliser reportedly destined for insurgent groups. Security officials noted that fertiliser is often repurposed by terrorists for the production of IEDs.

“The offensives disrupted insurgent supply chains, denying terrorists freedom of action and enabling safer socio-economic activities in the region,” one security official said.

The military high command commended the troops for their resilience and professionalism and pledged sustained support to consolidate the gains recorded in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign.
