Jigawa Council Boss Empowers Widow With Grinding Machine, N20, 000

The Chairman of Birniwa Local Government Council of Jigawa, Mr Shehu Baba, has gifted a widow and mother of eight with a grinding machine and N20, 000 cash.
Alhaji Musa Muhammad, the Information Officer in charge of the area, made this known in a statement yesterday in Dutse.
Muhammad said the gesture was part of the council’s bid to improve the living standards and promote self-reliance among residents facing hardship in the area.
He said that it was also aimed at empowering the widow struggling to take care of her eight orphaned children.
“The gesture is to safeguard and enhance the orphaned children’s future, particularly their educational struggles.
“The widow, Madan Umaru, a resident of Diginsa ward in Birniwa, received a grinding machine and a startup grant of N20, 000 to support her children’s welfare,” he said.
The spokesperson added that, overwhelmed with emotion, the beneficiary tearfully expressed gratitude to the council chairman for the gesture.
She said it would help her to sustain her orphaned children.
Muhammad reiterated the council’s commitment to uplifting the local government and welcoming advices to achieving excellence and good governance.
