A top presidency source has confirmed that Mr. Bayo Bashir Ojulari has not resigned as Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), contrary to a report circulated by Keeping Them Honest Daily moments ago.
We hereby withdraw our previous report titled “BREAKING: Bayo Ojulari Resigns as NNPCL Group CEO, Denies ‘Abduction’ Rumours.”
In that report, we had erroneously stated that Mr. Ojulari had confirmed his resignation while refuting viral claims of being abducted and forced out of office. However, fresh information from authoritative sources within the Presidency now indicates that Ojulari remains in office and has not tendered any resignation, voluntary or otherwise.
The source described the resignation rumours as “pure fiction”, urging the public and media outlets to exercise caution and await official communication from the Presidency or NNPCL regarding leadership changes, if any.
Keeping Them Honest Daily deeply regrets this premature report and acknowledges the need for stricter verification protocols in handling sensitive national stories. We apologise to Mr. Ojulari, the NNPCL, and our readers for the oversight.
We remain committed to upholding transparency, accuracy, and accountability in our journalism.
Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
