A support group, Grassroots Mobilisation for Tinubu (GMT), said the achievements of President Bola Tinubu in the last two years have attracted more members to the group across the federation.
The Director-General of the group in Ondo State, Mr Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, stated this in Akure at an interactive forum for group leaders and members in the state.
Yusuf-Ogunleye, who listed the achievements at the forum, said each local government chapter had been directed to appoint 12 interim officers to strengthen the group’s structure and grassroots engagement.
“We want to ensure the group is not just based in Akure but fully rooted in all local governments. Our group is present in all 18 local government areas,” he said.
The D-G also commended the Minister of Interior, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his unwavering support for the group and efforts in ensuring that Tinubu was re-elected with the highest percentage of votes nationwide.
“We want a structure where no leader will say they were left out, except for those who choose not to be part of it.
“We even have people who are not members of All Progressives Congress (APC) but believe in Tinubu’s vision and are willing to join us. APC is one big family.
“We thank the minister for his support, the state party chairman, Ade Adetimehin, and our Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa for providing an enabling environment for us to operate,” he said.
Also, the Legal Adviser of the group, Hon. Akinwunmi Sowore, emphasised that the primary objective of GMT was to promote and propagate Tinubu’s achievements.
Sowore said more programmes would soon be unveiled, noting that the group was firmly rooted in the state.
Speaking with newsmen after the event, the newly-appointed Women Leader of GMT, Mrs Olamide Falana, said the group was composed of grassroots politicians with proven integrity committed to showcasing Tinubu’s legacy.
In his remarks, the Secretary of the group, Mr Rasheed Badmus, said the people of Ondo State had benefited from president’s administration in the last two years.
“We have enough to show our people in this state what President Tinubu has done for us since he came, so they are always with him,” he said.
