Adu ​‌‍​​​⁠‍⁠⁠‌⁠⁠‍‍‌‍‍‍‌​Unity Football Cup: LOC Assures Teams of Fair Officiating

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the fourth edition, Adu Unity Football Cup, has assured participating teams of fair officiating throughout the competition.
The LOC Chairman, Raymond Abdulsalam, gave the assurance on Thursday while addressing newsmen after the draws of the competition.at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure,
The competition will feature 21 teams representing the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State.
The defending champion, Ijapo Ages Stars of Akure South, are scheduled to face newcomers, Ore Bombers, on Tuesday in the opening match.
Abdulsalam commended the participating teams for their commitment and understanding during the previous editions of the competition.
He urged coaches and club owners to cooperate with the LOC to sustain the achievements recorded in previous editions.
“I want you all to cooperate with us to help these young and upcoming stars achieve their dreams.
“As organisers, we will do our best to ensure that no team is short-changed during this competition. I plead with you all to present a good team that will represent you well,” he said.
Also, Sunday Dele-Ajayi, Chairman, Ondo State Football Association, represented by his Secretary, Femi Adeleye, commended the sponsor, Olumuyiwa Adu, for sustaining the competition for four consecutive years.
Dele-Ajayi said the sponsor had chosen an appropriate platform to empower young people through sports.
“Let me also thank the organisers for their efforts in putting one of the best grassroots football competitions in place in the state.
“We must appreciate your efforts as partners in the development of grassroots football. You are our partners in progress.
“Human beings are not perfect, but the participating teams should abide by the rules of the game. I also pray for the successful conduct of the competition,” he said.
Similarly, Tolu Akinfemisoye, representating the Chairperson of the Ondo State Referees Council, educated the teams on the new rules guiding the game.
Akinfemisoye assured the participants that the officials would strive to ensure fairness, while acknowledging that human errors could not be completely eliminated from football.
“Team representatives should educate their supporters on the rules of the competition because disagreements often arise from the technical areas and among fans who are unfamiliar with the rules,” he said.
